His owner has too many horses and Pockets has just been sitting in her pasture. He is a beautiful  horse and quite natural at Western Pleasure. He  would make someone an AMAZING Amateur  Adult Prospect…..he just needs finishing. He has  been on trail, has been to a few schooling shows  and his behavior was GREAT!  He recently placed 1st in two W/J classes at his first Cowboy Dressage Show! His x-rays are clean  and he is going good barefoot at present, he  had  shallow soles, but has good feet and is barefoot presently, we use Easyboot gloves for trail riding.   She only wants him to go to a great match, otherwise she will keep him. Check out this breeding!!! http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/just+plain+pockets

I would like to know more about Pockets training. What kind of shows has he been in? Does his shallow soles limit his ability to do harder riding (like working cattle)? I have a pleasure gelding right now but I want to get out of that style of riding. I’m looking to do faster pace riding.

Sorry for the delay…He has been to a few local schooling show, ridden in a few western classes and trail classes. His shallow soles limit him for concussive riding…so, basically speed- roping, reining, barrels etc. He could work cows and I am sure would enjoy working cows, he has had training on our cutting flag and roping dummy, but it would have to be ranch type cow work…slower more methodical stuff. We have trained him for his owner since a baby and he has turned out really nice. He just needs a person of his own. We currently have him going well barefoot and think it is in our best interest to keep him that way while trying to sell him, it shows he has decent feet. We have some video of him under saddle if you are interested. Thanks, Krista

I am interested in Pockets. I’m looking for a real quiet trailhorse, and would do some WP atocsl shows. How much trail riding has he done in a large group?

He has not been out in very large groups, but has been great on trail and is well behaved when we have taken him to schooling shows for exposure. He travels well and is not herd-bound. He has been out alone and does very well with other horses. He has not been out on trail much this past year, but we have ridden him on and off since 3 and have done all his training. We have only ever had him act up once alone a few years ago, but nothing dangerous or crazy. He just wants to get along. Where are you located? Somewhere close so you can take a look?

Hi i am looking for a beginner-novice horse. Would this be a good match? or now of any for not to much money. OR now anybody looking for a mustang gelding project?

Tell me more about the mustang….I think Pockets needs someone that at least has interest in taking lessons and riding well. He would be good for an advanced beginner, but would really shine with a good equitation rider. I only know of one available beginner horse of a clients, but he is well experienced at Pony Club and Trail rides, the gal is asking $3000 he is 19, but made and sound. If you tell me more about your needs, i might be able to find you one. Thanks, Krista

I am interested in taking a drive up to see pockets. I am not a beginner, have owned horses for the better part of 50 years now. However I have MS and lack balance. I also have some leg problems. I won’t do much trail riding because it’s too risky for me, however I’m looking for a safe same gelding to Arena ride at home and possibly take to an occasional local show. I just want to be able to have fun riding on a horse that is not complicated. I also want a Palomino or buckskin… And pockets is in my price range. I am in Southern California probably 6 Hours or so, from you. What would be a good way to set up a date to come up and see him.

We are available especially during the week. Weekends work except that we are going to the cowboy dressage finals the 14-17th. What works best for you and we can try and work around it. You sound like a very good possible match for him and his happiness. He is good on trail when you want and has a lovely smooth way of going in the arena when ridden balanced. Where are you coming from? LA is only 2.5 hours from me. Very cool!
